IST Innuscreen has designed a new extraction kit to meet the current enormous increase in demand for extraction kits and the associated global shortage of resources.
The innuPREP Virus TS RNA Kit 2.0 - FX was specially developed for isolating Sars-CoV-2 RNA from respiratory swab samples such as nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal swabs using the CyBio FeliX in combination with the CyBio FeliX Extraction Set. Up to 96 samples can be processed automatically. The novel simplified kit chemistry allows an efficient extraction process based on the binding of RNA to surface-modified magnetic particles. After washing, the RNA is eluted with RNase-free water and the nucleic acid is available for subsequent applications. In addition, the kit contains carrier RNA, which optimizes the yield, especially in case of small amounts of RNA samples. In addition, this RNA also contains an internal control RNA, which can be used as an extraction control. Please note that ethanol and 2-propanol must be provided for the extraction.
In order to minimize manual preparation steps for this kit, the innuPREP Pre-filling Set (OL3317-25-127 available at Analytik Jena) offers the possibility of automated pre-filling of all Deep Well Plates with respective buffers and reagents by the CyBio FeliX.
